A Basic Service was opened in 1992 on Yonge Street by Bruce Humphrey as an alternative for families that did not require the services of a traditional funeral home. In time with growth, the offices had to be moved to larger facilities.
In June of 2002 we relocated to Scarborough. With our office conveniently located at 2966A Eglinton Ave. East (just east of McCowan Rd.).  Just recently in 2009 another relocation to 1403A Bayview Avenue took place (south of Eglinton near the corner of Davisville and Bayview).

Today, A Basic Service is still owned and operated as a division of the Humphrey Funeral Home and Chapel Limited. We continue to provide services to all faiths, all cultures, and all people in the Greater Toronto Area, both preneed and atneed.
A Basic Service understands the importance of individual beliefs. For many people simplicity is what they desire. We offer inexpensive immediate cremation and burial services. We are available 24 hours a day should you require our services or have any questions regarding our services.
