Ontario Funeral Services Association website contains helpful information on preplanning and funeral services.

The regulatory body the governs the funeral profession is the Ontario Board of Funeral Services. "The Board of Funeral Services shall, in accordance with the Funeral Directors and Establishments Act, regulate the provision of funeral services and transfer services in order that the public interest be served."

Bereaved Families of Ontario is an organization that offers excellent support programs for those learning to live with grief. Their programs are "designed to combat the sense of loneliness and isolation and to recognize that the bereaved often respond better to one another."

The Arthritis Society, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lung Association and The War Amps are just a few of the charitable organizations that now allow you to make  In Memoriam donations through their websites.

The Veteran Affairs Canada website contains useful information about Wills, prearranging your funeral, funeral financial assistance, etc. The Last Post Fund can provide funeral assistance for veterans in need. The Human Resources Development Canada website provides information about the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security.
As part of our service, we provide "Funeral Home Proof of Death Certificates" which are acceptable for most estate settlement purposes within Canada. Occasionally, a need arises where it is necessary to obtain a certified "Death Certificate", usually for foreign estate settlement purposes. This is obtainable from the Office of the Registrar General of the Ontario Provincial Government. The
Ministry of Consumer and Business Services website discusses the different documents available and how to go about obtaining them.
